Jeremy Major
Varsity Assistant Coach Jeremy was born and raised in Pasadena, California. His love of basketball began at six years of age, with his mom taking him to play in various youth leagues. Later, Jeremy was selected three times All California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) at Maranatha High School in Pasadena. Jeremy went to Pepperdine University, in Malibu, California where he became the most accomplished point guard in Pepperdine history, as well as graduating with a degree in advertising. Jeremy is still the current all-time leader in assists, after breaking a record that stood for 33 years. He holds the second highest all-time record in steals and the fourth highest all-time three pointers made. Jeremy went on to play professionally in Cyprus and England, and became the Vice President of basketball training company The Secret Trainer with his friend and colleague Mike Teller. In 2021, Jeremy joined the Golden Knight coaching staff to offer his experience, perseverance, passion and enthusiasm and is as an elite trainer through his company Major Hoops Skills Training. twitter: @majorhoop3 |
Cameron Kanda
Varsity Assistant Coach Cameron Kanda joins the Golden Knights basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2022-2023 season. Prior to St. Francis, from 2019-2022 he was as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator for the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams at Occidental College. In addition to his work at Occidental, Cameron was the Head Coach of the Flintridge Preparatory School Boys JV Basketball Team starting in 2014, and captured the Prep League in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Cameron was also an assistant to the Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Program for five years before leaving the program to complete his Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at California State Northridge University. In his five seasons at Flintridge Prep as an assistant, the Boys Varsity Basketball Team reached the CIF playoffs four times, with a CIF finals appearance in the 2015-2016 season, and two state tournament appearances. Cameron has spent the last decade mentoring and developing local high school players from the greater Los Angeles area by establishing a productive and safe environment to learn the game of basketball. An alumnus of Maranatha High School, Cameron was a captain of the basketball team his senior year, with his team making back-to-back CIF Semi-Final appearances in 2006 & 2007. Cameron graduated from the University of Arizona with a Degree in Communications and Minor in Psychology in 2014. Andrew Ayvazian
JV Assistant Coach Andrew Ayvazian is in his first season at St. Francis High School. He began coaching in 2018 as a youth coach at Chamlian Armenian School. Andrew spent three seasons there coaching at his former school. He spent time volunteering for Homenetmen Azadamard where he coached multiple tournaments and specialized in teaching the fundamentals of basketball. Coach A believes that a team is a family and that everyone on the roster should always trust each other and establish the brotherhood that St. Francis represents. In his free time, Andrew enjoys training and developing young athletes, watching basketball, and spending time with friends and family. |
